If you haven’t already done so AND you have a child between the ages of 5 and 11, mark your calendars now! LCC will host our annual Vacation Bible School, June 24 - 28 from 9:30 am - noon. The Everywhere Fun Fair, will take our children around the world to experience scripture in varied cultural settings….Japan, United Kingdom, Zimbabwe, Mexico and Australia.
Adult and Youth HELPERS are needed! Please let Patti Komperda know if you can help with snacks, crafts, storytelling, or in any other way. Also, if you have any kids of decorations or clothing that represent any of these countries and could be borrowed for the week, please let Patti K know ASAP!
Yoga for Kids (Preschool - 5th Grade)
Jacqueline Reasor, our Nursery Caregiver, will begin Yoga for Kids (ages Preschool - 5th grade) after worship on Sunday, April 7th in the Social Hall.
Bring your child(ren) down after Faith Formation, stay if you want or visit with other adults in the Parlor. The session should last about 20 minutes, no yoga mats or special clothing is needed.
School Year Faith Formation
Our Faith Formation (Sunday School) is for children ages 4 (Pre-school) through 8th grade. Children come to worship with their families and move to Faith Formation after the Children's Sermon in the worship service.
Children, ages 4-2nd grade participate in Cherub Choir during their Faith Formation Time in the Chapel with the Children’s Music Director, Ms. Angela Bruzina. Children grades 3-5 rehearse with her for Covenant Choir after worship until 11:30 AM in the Chapel. Rehearsals for the Youth Choir, grades 6-12, will be announced at a future time.
Our youngest “members” can be watched during worship in the Nursery (Main level) by Jacqueline Reasor, our staff caregiver. Please check in your child and include any necessary info or hygiene supplies for Jacqueline. Parents of our infants and toddlers are encouraged to help out in the Nursery once a month. Dale Spooner is the coordinator of the Nursery helpers.

Children’s Faith Formation
The Faith Formation rooms were active throughout Lent as scripture from the Old and New Testaments was explored. The Faith Formation leaders provided our children with a variety of ways to better understand the message.
In April, the Season after Easter will focus on Scripture from the Book of Acts. In these readings, the children will meet these followers of Jesus: Peter, Saul, Ananias, and Tabitha (Dorcas). During this season, which is 50 days long, we celebrate that Jesus is ALIVE in a new way.
Children’s Music
Darryl meetw with our youngest children, Joyful Noise, (Preschool - 2nd grade) at the beginning of their Faith Formation time in the chapel. He then meets with our 34d, 4th, 5th Grade Singers from 10:55 - 11:10 in the 3rd/4th grade room. Darryl meets with our Youth Band, Next Generation, in the Band Room from 11:15-11:45 every Sunday.
Please put the following dates of performance on your calendars:
3rd/4th/5th Grade Singers will sing during worship on May 5th
Joyful Noise will sing during worship on Mothers' Day, May 12th
Next Generation will play during worship on May 19th
Worship for All Ages
Our next Worship for All Ages is Sunday, April 7, 2013, the Sunday after Easter. Our children and youth will sing a song from their Youth Musical, "We Are One," and our Youth Band, Next Generation will play a song. Children, youth and adults will bring their Hunger Bags to the altar during the Offertory.
Remember, during worship, childcare is provided in our Nursery for the youngest members of our church family (infants to 3 year-olds) and Activity Bags for other children are located in the back of the Sanctuary, if needed.
Helping Others Help Themselves

Did you know that the Children’s offerings each Sunday helps support Heifer International, an organization that helps people around the world become self-sufficient by providing them with farm animals, trees, water, and other necessities to sustain their lives and those of their neighbors. If your child(ren) did not receive a box of offering envelopes, they may be picked up from the FF leaders or in the church office. Please use them so that we will include their giving with your Family Pledge. Their offerings go into the Miracle Jar because that’s exactly what it creates for others around the world.
Tentative plans are underway to participate in the Heifer International Youth Mission Trip next year at one of their farms in Rutland, Massachusetts!
A special thank you to Blythe Gehring, LCC and resident of The Westerly, who very generously made a donation to Heifer Internation in her Thank You note to Aidan Erway for sending her a St. Patrick's Day greeting!
