Children's Faith Formation
Faith Formation registration forms for each child will be collected in the Narthex on Rally Day morning. These are to be filled out for Nursery-12th grade children. The 2012-2013 Faith Formation Registration Form is now available. Click Here
Our theme this year is "Be like a tree: dig your roots deep, keep your trunk strong, allow your branches to reach out, and recognize how your leaves can provide beauty and change to your life!" We will be working with Seasons of the Spirit curriculum, a lectionary-based Faith Formation program. Look for topics we will explore for each Sunday on the bulletin board in the West Clifton hallway.
Our Mid-highs (grades 6-8) meet in the Youth Room for their Faith Formation program, Grapple, a curriculum that brings relevant day-to-day issues for preteens to the forefront for discussion and scripture support. We encourage them to bring their UCC Bibles each Sunday, or download the New Revised Standard Version Bible on their cell phones or tablets.
Our Faith Formation (Sunday School) is for children ages 4 (Pre-school) through 8th grade. Children come to worship with their families and move to Faith Formation after the Children's Sermon in the worship service.
Children, ages 4-2nd grade participate in Cherub Choir during their Faith Formation Time in the Chapel with the Children’s Music Director, Ms. Angela Bruzina. Children grades 3-5 rehearse with her for Covenant Choir after worship until 11:30 AM in the Chapel. Rehearsals for the Youth Choir, grades 6-12, will be announced at a future time.
Our youngest “members” can be watched during worship in the Nursery (Main level) by Jacqueline Reasor, our staff caregiver. Please check in your child and include any necessary info or hygiene supplies for Jacqueline. Parents of our infants and toddlers are encouraged to help out in the Nursery once a month. Dale Spooner is the coordinator of the Nursery helpers.
Senior Highs are welcome to help with the Faith Formation groups, in the Nursery, with worship, or "just' enjoy worship in the Sanctuary each Sunday. Sign-up sheets are available, see Mrs. Komperda.

Jacqueline Reasor, our Nursery Caregiver, leads Yoga for Kids (ages Preschool - 5th grade) after worship the First and Third Sundays of each month.
Darryl meets with our youngest children, Joyful Noise, (Preschool - 2nd grade) at the beginning of their Faith Formation time in the chapel. He then meets with our 3rd, 4th, 5th Grade Singers from 10:55 - 11:10 in the 3rd/4th grade room. Darryl meets with our Youth Band, Next Generation, in the Band Room from 11:15-11:45 every Sunday. We look forward to hearing each group "perform" in worship.
Helping Others Help Themselves
Did you know that the Children’s offerings each Sunday helps support Heifer International, an organization that helps people around the world become self-sufficient by providing them with farm animals, trees, water, and other necessities to sustain their lives and those of their neighbors? Each child is given a package of envelopes to be used for their offering each week. Please use them so that we will include their giving with your Family Pledge. Their offerings go into the Miracle Jar because that’s exactly what it creates for others around the world.
If you did not get your new box of offertory envelopes for your child, they are available in the children's Faith Formation classes or in the church office.
Have you been missing the most satisfying feeling of holding a baby, playing with blocks, or singing nursery rhymes? If so, why not sign up to help Jacqueline Reasor in our LCC Nursery during worship some Sunday. We sometimes have up to 10 little ones in Nursery on Sunday morning! The sign-up sheet is located in the Nursery, or let Dale Spooner know of your interest.
