Community Meal...
Is alive and well every first Wednesday of the month. Come and join us in cooking this great meal for our guests. In our kitchen, we cook for 120 people and this usually leaves food for the workers (us!) and often leftovers for St. Hermans. Sign up on the West Clifton hallway bulletin board. Early workers come around 3:00 pm and prep for dinner. This could be setting tables, making coffee, cutting cakes, peeling potatoes—just like home (or the army, depending on your background!). Others come around 5:00-6:00 pm to serve the cafeteria style meal. And the all important clean up crew comes a bit later. The benefits of this meal are many, but may I remind you of the great feeling one gets knowing something very tangible for someone is happening right now, right in front of you. Change and goodness is happening, and you are not only a part of it, you are making it happen!! It doesn’t get better than that. We have been awarded by the food bank, on behalf of harvest for hunger, another $500 grant for our supplies. They are always congratulating LCC for the wonderful job. So, congrats on a great job!!!
